Some Poems are meant to be heard and not seen. Transcribed below

Dear Happy Me,

I know you see the world

much brighter than me

full of promise and hope

like a gentle slope

a walk on a summer day

with no greasy men shouting "hey"

you see it as beauty

full of opportunity

and i guess im wondering how

because thats not how im seeing it now

I feel like nothing matters

like we're all just

cake batters

with no oven to bake

or people to take

joy in our frosting or our layers

like life is a game meant for single players

and im sick of goin into battle alone

because its not as much fun when your companion's your phone

and i know the world holds more than this strife

i know theres a way for a better life

where im more you and less me

where i dont care who they want me to be

but girl i cant find that secret dor

once i pass a trial theres always more

and how the hell do you make it?

how do you live your life without trying to take it

i know you make promises but i always break it

I just feel so alone

so unloved

so worthless

and really dont you think this thing

is worth less

than the happy go lucky beauty you are

the person so loved from near and afar

you deserve more than i could ever do

but me?

i'm holding on for you

because i cant rob you of something you love

and even if it feels like a call from above

youre beautiful and genuine and oh so sweet

but me hanging on? thats no small feat

I love you dear child and while it's easy for me

to brand you as happy out of stupidity

i know you hold as much knowledge as i do

and yet you decide to keep on pushing through

so if you can do it well i can too

and sometimes its hard but i love you

i really do

sincerely

this

you
